The Sydney opera house is easily accessible since it is located at Bennelong point which borders Sydney harbour and is within a short stroll of Circular Quay. According to the official venue directions, the Sydney Opera House is approximately 6 minutes of walking distance of the Circular Quay, the primary transport center of this area of the city.

In case you are taking a train, go to Circular Quay Station. Going there, all one has to do is walk along the waterfront towards the harbour and the white sails of the Opera House. One of the simplest options is the use of trains since Circular Quay can be accessed by most parts of Sydney, including the routes to the airport through the rail system.

Best itinerary including a visit to Sydney Opera House

To have the most Sydney Opera House itinerary with Tiqets, purchase the Official 1-Hour Guided Tour ahead of time. Tiqets now has the standard guided tour and a Tour + Dining experience, where the tour also includes a meal voucher to places such as Opera Bar, House Canteen or Midden by Mark Olive.

The best idea is to take a morning or late afternoon slot. The official tour lasts 60 minutes, and Tiqets writes that depending on the place, the dining voucher may be redeemed during the tour or after it. Morning is better with lighter crowds and brighter harbour views, late afternoon is better when you would prefer the precinct at sunset followed by dinner.

Get to the Welcome Centre at the Lower Concourse at least 2030 minutes before the event begins and Tiqets tells you to present your smartphone ticket. Allow additional time on security, cloaking facilities and the walk between Circular Quay and Bennelong point. Wear comfortable shoes during the tour: Tiqets mentions that some of the tours require a lot of stairs, and the size of the bag is limited.

To see the museum has a good flow: begin with the guided tour so that you get the architecture, history, and the behind-the-scenes information when you have the energy to see. Then another 30-60 minutes around the forecourt and harbour edge to take photos of the skyline and the Harbour Bridge. Then you can use your Tiqets dining inclusions with lunch, early dinner or waterfront drinks.

In total, allow around 2.5 to 3.5 hours with or without a meal, or around 1.5 to 2 hours tour and a leisurely stroll of the precinct. That is why Sydney Opera House is a convenient, smooth half-day sightseeing in the city.
